OK… Day 60. Finally!
After two months of work, sweat and dedication I finally finish my first cycle of the Insanity Workout yesterday. And, as I promised when I started this little blog two months, I’ll let you know my thoughts about the program and my final results.
>>Click here to visit the official Insanity Workout website<<
First of all, the answer to the question, “Does the Insanity Workout Really Work?”…
HELL YA IT WORKS!!!
In the 60 days since I started the program, I’ve seen an incredible transformation of my body. I’ve lost about 9 pounds but more importantly, I’ve gained some serious definition in my abs as well as the rest of my upper body. But it’s not just about how I look but also how I feel.
First of all, I’m really proud of myself for sticking with this intense program for all these weeks. There were definitely times where I felt like quitting… but I didn’t. Secondly, I feel great physically. This is probably the best shape that I’ve ever been in in my life. Even after these intense daily workouts, I feel like I’m full of energy for life. After Insanity, I feel like I can do anything.
One of the other things that I really liked about Insanity was that I didn’t need any other equipment, I didn’t need any workout partner other than Shaun T’s dvd and I don’t need to spend money on a gym membership.
The one drawback for me of the Insanity Workout is that when I workout at home I’m not able to get encouragement from the other people working out with me. Fortunately, though, Shaun T is one of the most motivational coaches that I’ve ever seen and his constant, positive encouragement was more than enough to keep me pushing hard straight through to the end of each workout routine.
Overall, I think that Insanity is one of the best workout programs available today. Primarily because it delivers serious results in a seriously short period of time. When you buy Insanity you are going to work hard and you are going so see a serious transformation of your body and your energy for life.
Have you tried Insanity yet? Please come back and write your own review after you buy the Insanity workout.

Hey Congrats on finishing the programs. That’s a major accomplishment. You should be proud of yourself.
I’m about to finish up Insanity next week. I’m really psyched to do my final fit test. Insanity is the best workout I’ve ever done. Thanks for this video.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and this video with us. Seeing your final results gave me the inspiration that I need to start Insanity myself. I was on the fence for a while but I’m going to order now.
Congrats on finishing the Insanity Challenge. You deserve a lot of credit. I digg your positive energy!
Are there any other equipment or supplies needed to complete the insanity workout? Your video is really inspiring. I’m going to buy insanity right after I get my next paycheck.
I’m trying to decide between p90x and Insanity. Can you tell me what the primary differences are? My main focus is to lose weight and the get back in shape for the summer. Which program is best for me?
Thanks,
Jessica
I just finished day 13 of Insanity. I’m fighting a bad flu but I’m pushing through the workouts anyways. I might not be going 100% but I refuse to give up and let a little virus stop me from achieving my goal.
I don’t understand what all the hype is all about with Insanity. It just looks like a workout filled with calisthenics. Just like we did in junior high school gym class.
@Cindy P
It’s true that a lot of the techniques used aren’t necessarily unique to Insanity. The primary advantage to Insanity is how the routine is arranged and the motivation and inspiration that is provided by Shaun T. There are very few of even the most serious fitness buffs who can push themselves as hard as Shaun T will push you.
I agree. The best thing that I got out of the Insanity Challenge wasn’t necessarily the great physical fitness (which is also awesome), but the mental feeling that I can accomplish anything.
It’s like climbing Mt. Everest. Once you get to the top and look back it’s amazing to think about how much you accomplished.
I recommend that everybody tries this workout.
Man, I’m having a really hard time getting past week two of Insanity. My legs are killing me and I nearly pass out after each workout. But I’m determined to get to day 60. Wish me luck.
I just ordered the insanity DVDs from the website. I can’t wait for them to arrive so I can get started.
Wow, all the comments that everybody else here have written are really inspiring. I’m on day 4 of Insanity and lovin it. I’ll come back here and leave a comment after I finish.
I’ve done a lot of workouts and I agree that Insanity is definitely one of the most intense. The results that it helped me achieve in just 63 days are amazing.
Hey John,
No there is no other equipment that you need to do Insanity other that the DVDs. You should definitely try the program. You’ll love it.
I’m trying to decide between p90x and Insanity. Can you tell me what the primary differences are? My main focus is to lose weight and the get back in shape for the summer. Which program is best for me?
Thanks,
Jessica
I’ve been doing Insanity for about two weeks now. I’m starting to get a little discouraged because I’m not seeing and real changes in my physical fitness yet. I’m thinking about quitting. Any advice for me?
@Rebecca – Don’t give up yet!!! It might not seem like it yet but, if you give Insanity a sincere effort you will definitely see real results. You might not see it on you body yet, but your realize it after you do your second fit test and see your progress.
just watched the promo of this insanity on tv; this is not for 53 year olds. but just watching is inspiring. is there a “down tempo” version for older folks?
I about to start my fourth week of Insanity and it has been hard. I have lost inches and weight and my endurance has increased so much since I started. I complete my workout at my gym at work and I have my 62 year old friend do it right along with me!!!
After losing 70 lbs the “old fashioned” way through plain old diet and a basic exercise routine, I hit a plateau and actually started gaining some weight back despite the fact that I haven’t broken my routine. I ordered the Insanity DVDs which should be here next week in the hopes that it will get me back on track. I hope to see results like yours!
Rebecca,
Give it a few more weeks and if you are following the program you will see results. You have to dig deep and push yourself. do you see a difference on hte scale or in the Mirror. also if you have not been working out on a regular basis, your body will go through a breakdown period of about two weeks and start building itself up and getting stronger. also what is your nutritional diet like are you doing ALL the right things, your diet is a vital role in any workout routine. if you do not start seeing results step back and look at what you are doing you have to be honest and hard on yourself. it will come.
Insanity is crazy and I love it.. People always wanna see results in everything they do with in weeks of working out, Its called 60 days for a reason.. 60 days of hell to turn ur lifestyle around, Even if u dont get rip cut abs or get where u wanted after 60 days… Know this , u are such in way better shape then u have ever been … I do believe Insanity works , after having 3 weeks under my belt and now working on week 4 , it so has to do with what u eat and count for what goes in ur mouth…When he says check ur heart rate, its a good idea to check it .. Go buy a fit watch so it can tell if ur heart rate is below the 75%-85% of where it should be. If u notice ur heart rate is not up in the 75%-85% then u need to push harder… U can email me at adamcyfers@yahoo.com if u have any other questions
I started insanity last week monday, and this is a workout like no other. I played sports all my life on all levels and this is bananas. To those not seeing results in 2 weeks or even 3 week. Stick with it and you will after 60 days. Remember diet is a big key to changing your overall physique. But, I will say this about insanity, if it cannot get you in shape both physically and mentally, then nothing will. I’m 6’8 and 290 and think I sweat 10 -12lbs ber session. lol
But I love it. Big ups to Shawn T.
i am on my 2nd week of insanity…. I am loving this workout and i feel like I am pushing myself and sweating my butt off, but i am only burning about 200 calories a workout…. i havent really seen any changes yet, but i dont wanna give up… any advice or suggestions?
I really want to do insanity my only question is will it work for me? I am 5’3″ and weigh 170lbs. My son is 2 and I havent lost all of the weight. My goal is to loss weight and at the same time get physically fit. Do you think that it will be a good thing for me to start this with my weight at 170. I have tried the diets but the only thing that works for me in committing to a long term work out. I was very fit before having my child, so I think I will be able to hang with the work out I’m just wondering if it will be a good idea.
hey my name is kewan. i am out of skool for the summer. and i want to get fit for ranger challenge in rotc i am 20 years 5’5 and bout 180 but im lean im wanna cut as much fat as possible. ma goal is to loss 20-30 pounds i will start monday
I have been doing insanity for two and a half weeks now and am not seeing any results. I can tell that something is changing because I can do the whole workout now:) However, it would be nice to SEE something too…. Has this happened to anyone else
I did the first month of Insanity and then had a motorcycle accident which interrupted my workouts but my husband was able to complete it and looks great. I started up again with month 1 this past Sunday and I am pleased to say that I did not lose all of my progress. I still met or exceeded the levels from my last fit test.
What I will tell those of you who are stuggling (as I still do!) measure your progress against your own levels. Don’t try to be as good as the people on the video. Also, get a heart rate monitor!!! Make sure to not work above 90% or you will not have a good results. That may mean you have to stop more initially as you get your cardio up to par but you will be much better off.
As for those of you who are not seeing any results, trust me they are there. I could not see them in how my clothes were fitting necessarily but I could feel the difference when I would run my hands along where the muscles were getting the biggest workout, especially in the upper abs. You are building muscle but the fat may be hiding your progress. Ladies, remember that we have a harder time getting rid of that fat but the muscles are there! Hang in there!
Ok I am getting really scared. I ordered my DVDs this morning and reading everyone’s messages I am wondering am I going to be able to handle it. I have not exercised in 10 yrs or longer. I am overweight by a lot. Can anyone tell me if this will work on people who is really overweight and out of shape??
HI!
I USED TO BE 210LBS!!! NEVER WANT TO BE THERE AGAIN!
AFTER A LONG STRUGGLE NOW I’M AT 147 LBS 6″7 BUT I THINK I HAVE REACHED PLATEU BECAUSE NO MATTER WHAT I DO I CANT SEEM TO LOSE ANY MORE WEIGHT.
I’M TRYING TO GO DOWN TO 130LBS, AND TO GET TONE SINCE I LOST ALOT OF WEIGHT, AND MY SKIN IS FLABBY.
WILL THIS PROGRAM WORK FOR ME?
THANKS!
ELIZABETH
I am 58 and wondering if there is anyone who is ~ my age who has done this?? and what arethe results that they saw or that I can expect. It is great to seee the younger set get into this but what about the baby boomers???
Thank you
I started Insanity on 7/1/10, a gift to myself for my 50th birthday. I have worked out for years, I actually enjoy it. I’m going into the second month and I can honestly say that this is the hardest work out I have ever done. I’m determined to complete it and should continue with it. I have noticed a change in my body lost inches and pounds. The one thing negative thing about the workout is the recovery week, it should not be for the whole week because you are in the zone then you have the recovery week, wish you just stayed in the zone. I know you have to rest the muscles, but you lose momentum and the next week kills you! I love Shaun T and the others on the DVD’S, I can only hope that my body will look like some of the females in the DVD. But I feel great and that’s what matters. Good luck to all!!!
I just ordered insanity and I’m just waiting to get it I’m ready to get started
im only 16 and i love this work out!!! its amazing. i dicided to order it about half way through the summer cuz when i saw the info-mericial it got me extremly pumped. ever since i was about 11 iv been trying to be healthy and this works. i havent found a work out like it. when i started i could barley get through the fit test but i did my 2nd fit test last week and i saw amazing results!!! i did so much better in every single exircise. i didnt notice results for the first 3 weeks but now on week 4 i can see results so to anyone considering quiting dont do it! i am so extited for recovery week but the work outs from month two look so bad ass!!! im so exited to complete the 63 days of the most intense work out there is.
i just started and i am on my 2nd day lets just say i cant move!!! i hope it works
yep. i started it too and i am wayyyy sore. love it though!
Hey I have a question, I had completed 2 1/2 weeks of insanity and came down with a nasty upper respiratory infection : ( I tried…but couldn’t do the workouts for a whole week!! I’m still not feeling 100% but I’m back at it! Should I restart the entire program? Or pick up where I left off? I can’t decide??? Thanks!
I am in the recovery week and i can see great results. I started at 228 lbs and i am 208 right now. My waist was 43″ now i am at 39 1/2″.
Thanks Shawn T you are the best!
Today was day one. The fit test. I’m not fit. I weigh in at 257.5 lbs and I am only 5’10″. I puked after I finished. This is gonna be fun!!!!!
@Larry
I’m glad to hear you’re enthusiastic. Just be careful not to push yourself too hard. Puking is usually not a good sign. Your body might be trying to tell you something?
Good idea, keep work to success.
I am just about to leave work and I cant wait to start my routing. I have been doing the workout for 2 weeks now and I have to say I see a little results already. I remember my 1st day after i finished I COULD NOT MOVE FOR 5 DAYS. LOL, but I continued doing it and I feel great already I can sleep better now and i see that my waist is loosing inches I cant wait for my day 60 and the most important thing is that I AM NOT QUITTING I WILL FINISH IT. THANKS SHAWN FOR THIS GREAT WORKOUT. Your bro from BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA.
I just started the program today weighing in at 228.2 lbs. I just finished a six week bootcamp and figured this would help me lose more weight and get cut. Wow the fit test was no joke. I was sweating but was able to get the numbers I thought I would. I hate squats and suicides but I have made a promise to myself to love them while I am working out. I can’t wait to see my results after day 60. I am encouraged by the other comments I see posted and will keep you posted of my results as I go along.
hi
i was thinking about getting the insanity dvd as i’ve come to a stand still with my exercises, i’ve lost a stone but just can’t shift anymore, my fiance wants to do it with me to, but can you order it in the uk. as i watched the advert the other day and we wanted to give it a go
I just finished month 1 of the Insanity workout. While I feel in better shape and can notice improvement in my cardio fitness, I’m not seeing any changes to my body yet. I’m 5′ tall and started Insanity weighing 141 pounds. Today, I weighed in at 138 pounds. My belly, which has always been my tough spot, looks the same – still flabby. I’m sticking with the program but I was hoping I’d see some visible changes to my body after the first month. My goal is to get down to 130 pounds and lower my body fat percentage to around 20 (currently it is at 25). I’ve stuck pretty close to the diet plan, though I’m vegan and have been for nearly 20 years for animal rights reasons.
Any advice on why I’m not seeing results after one month of Insanity? I’ve heard many people post that they really start to notice improvements in the second month. Have others on this thread found that month 2 brings more pronounced changes?
I just purchased my Insanity DVDs and I’m going to stick to it faithfully. I’ve read all the reviews everyone has posted and I hope I will be pleased just as u all are. I will keep everyone posted with b4 and after pics.
I just got Insanity for Christmas and am going to start Jan. 3 Looking forward to the workout.
Day 1..Fitness Test kicked my butt. I’m excited, scared, nervous and determined at the same time. I hope I can stick to the program. When will I start seeing results?
If you are just beginning to work out, do not expect to see the results right away, but you will feel them. It takes time for your body to break down and then build back up, and the process occurs over weeks, not days. You also need to be brutally honest with yourself about your eating habits. If you continue to eat ice cream and cheesecake or drink heavy amounts of alcohol then you are only sabatoging yourself with empty calories. You will see results if you persist with this program and eat at least half way decent meals. I have worked out persistently for years and have been active at a very high level in my sport. After almost finishing with the second week I can already feel a huge improvement in my fitness level. Not only will this program increase your physicall fitness, it will improve your mental toughness, discipline and confidence. Stick with it and see it through to the end.
