Day 60 Results: Does Insanity Workout Really Work?

OK… Day 60. Finally!

After two months of work, sweat and dedication I finally finish my first cycle of the Insanity Workout yesterday. And, as I promised when I started this little blog two months, I’ll let you know my thoughts about the program and my final results.

>>Click here to visit the official Insanity Workout website<<

First of all, the answer to the question, “Does the Insanity Workout Really Work?”…

In the 60 days since I started the program, I’ve seen an incredible transformation of my body. I’ve lost about 9 pounds but more importantly, I’ve gained some serious definition in my abs as well as the rest of my upper body. But it’s not just about how I look but also how I feel.

First of all, I’m really proud of myself for sticking with this intense program for all these weeks. There were definitely times where I felt like quitting… but I didn’t. Secondly, I feel great physically. This is probably the best shape that I’ve ever been in in my life. Even after these intense daily workouts, I feel like I’m full of energy for life. After Insanity, I feel like I can do anything.

One of the other things that I really liked about Insanity was that I didn’t need any other equipment, I didn’t need any workout partner other than Shaun T’s dvd and I don’t need to spend money on a gym membership.

The one drawback for me of the Insanity Workout is that when I workout at home I’m not able to get encouragement from the other people working out with me. Fortunately, though, Shaun T is one of the most motivational coaches that I’ve ever seen and his constant, positive encouragement was more than enough to keep me pushing hard straight through to the end of each workout routine.

Overall, I think that Insanity is one of the best workout programs available today. Primarily because it delivers serious results in a seriously short period of time. When you buy Insanity you are going to work hard and you are going so see a serious transformation of your body and your energy for life.

I was in great shape in college, but 20 years and one kid later, I am in really bad shape. Can you do this program if you are in terrible shape, or do you need to work your way up to it?

  2. Andrew says:

I’m on day 21 of Insanity and I’ve seen some results. Most importantly I’m feeling a lot better about myself. I hadn’t been to the gym in a while before I started the program and the first week really killed me. The workouts are still exhausting, but I feel that I’m getting through it better. The workouts are impossible to go through without taking a break, but the point is to keep pushing yourself. Another key is to eat the right foods. I haven’t followed the nutrition guide, but have definitely been cutting down on fatty foods and watching my calorie intake. I think if you really want to see results it comes down to the food you are eating. Good luck to everyone on the program. I’m looking forward to month 2.

I’ve done both P90X and just finished Insanity. They both are great. Insanity is not about building muscle. I’ve actually lost muscle on the program. it would be good to cycle between the 2 programs because I’m doing P90X right away again to get my muscle tone.

I am 5’4 and 201lbs and a girl. Horrible i know. I probably look like a weigh 180 everyone is always shocked when I get on a scale. I ordered this crazy a$$ program and today is my 1 week mark. I know its doing something. I actually got sick after the first day fitness test. I didnt feel like I was pushing myslef, but I really did lose my lunch after. The next day I woke up sore and I thought oh hell, but I do my workout early in the AM and so I did the second DVD and by noon, man I could barely walk. Day 3, I did it but my muscles were not loving me. Day 4 oh better, thank you shaun for recovery, lol. I still can’t make it completely throught the warmup but I do my best and sweat my butt off! I love it! Oh yeah, and the first actuall DVD I did, we got through the warmup and I thought the workout was over, boy was I tripping when I found out that was the warmup. It is bananas man! I look forward to it and Im going to finish my 60 days! For everyone wondering if you can do it, just do it. I’m fat, out of shape and I just adjust, if I can’t do the moving pushups and I really just can’t, I do girl pushups as fast as I can and think if I keep going I will get there. I take twice as many breaks as they give you and push myself, but I am going to get there. PUSH!

  12. Anna Mendoza says:

I’m 18 years old, 5’2″ and 128 pounds. Though people think i’m crazy for thinking i’m fat, i really do feel it. Especially being around all of my friends who have nice stomachs… I am going to buy this and oh lord, i pray.. that it will work. The way I look has held me back from so much.. my self confidence is no where to be found. I cant wait. I HOPE EVERYONES TELLING THE TRUTH

  13. Mike says:

Hey everyone! This is my second time doing insanity because I quit around week 2 because I wasn’t seeing any results and I got to a point where I felt I could lose weight on my own. Boy was I wrong. I am 5’6″ and I reached 204 lbs. at my heaviest. I denied it at first and then one day in the mirror I realized I need to change, not only for health reasons, but for my confidence. I am currently in my fourth week and haven’t been seeing the weight lose as much, but I can tell that I am healthier and working hard. I can’t really see too big of a difference yet, but people say they see it. In other words, don’t get discouraged if you aren’t where you want to be. Keep motivating yourself and tell yourself that you WILL get there. Dig Deeper! After my third week I have lost about 8 lbs. Still frustrated about my belly fat but it will come with time. I am in no rush. If anyone needs motivation or a workout check-in buddy let me know! Always looking for support and always giving it! (NEVER BACK DOWN!)

  14. Joshua Phillips says:

I started this work out a few months ago and then I quit because it was too hard lol. I ran track in high school played football and basketball. After I graduated which was about two years ago I have gained a little weight. Anyone reading this and is debating on, the hardest part is getting up and doing!! And everyone is there own person but I STRONGLY recommend you keep a journal, just something small about your work out. I started to do it after I started it again a few weeks ago and it helps soooooo much! I like to go back and read how much better I am getting. And take a pic of your self do you can look back at that picture and see improvement. The hardest part of any workout is trying not to get discouraged. You can do it!!

  15. Tish says:

Well I’m 5’8 & 1/2 and I weight 205 give or take a couple of months ago I was 170 this is the fattest I’ve ever been I started insanity before and didn’t finish! Well tomorrow I’m starting from day 1 again and I’m going to stick it out! I look I’m the mirror and I cry, well wish me luck. Going for 160, I’ll put pics up once I’ve finished!

  16. Infamous Rumple says:

I bought insanity May of 2011 hoping that i can get toned before summer was over. Went through the 1st month and witnessed that I had more energy but watching the warm ups for the month 2 videos, i got extremely discouraged. So since then till September I just did the month 1 videos about 2-4 times a week just to maintain my energy level since that was one of my goals. I decided to suck it up and actually go through with the 2 month workout so from mid October I started from the beginning. I made it up till the 2nd week of month 2. I saw a small reduction of fat on my face and belly. My legs and arms are a little more defined. But not much difference.
But that’s because I believe I haven’t pushed myself as hard as I could. I am an ex smoker and that took a toll on my health yet i am still in my mid 20′s. I also haven’t followed the meal plans since financially I don’t have the money but I try to stay away from fast food.
I had to stop because I fell sick but now I have started month 2 all over again.
I’ve really been pushing myself. Its a pain when you start to feel your muscles burn and your only half way through the set but that’s when pushing counts the most. If you really push yourself then I believe you’ll see the results. Believe me, I just started month 2 this week and I can already see the change in my energy level after 3 days. But those last 20 minutes of each video is killer, half the time im on the floor gasping for air telling Shaun T to shut up when he says “keep going.” Just stay committed and you’ll get the results you want.

  17. bella says:

Hi Tish … was wondering how you’re progressing. I started insanity today and after the fit test i wanted to toss my cookies…
However, not giving up i WILL continue. I need it.deaperately ;) Good luck to all!

  19. Heather D says:

    Hi everyone..

My friend and I are starting the Insanity work out today after we both get off work and I am super Nervouse after reading some of these reviews. I currently weigh 141 and I am 5’4 and I am 20 years old. I have lost 45 pounds on my own and now I strongly want to tone my stomach and lose about 20 more pounds in order for me to be happy with myself. I am afraid I may get discouraged and or no results because I am pretty active right now. Starting today will have us ending our 60 day work out on 4/26/12 which excited me but seems like a life time away! I am praying I have a rocking cute little body by summer time!! I plan on logging often on here so maybe I will stay on the program.. Good luck to everyone attempting to make urself healthier and happy. I hate the way I look right now!

  20. Ivy says:

  21. Camille says:

Hey guys names Camille, well my cousin brought this insanity DVD about a few months ago, and she wanted me to try it with her but I said no, now she hasn’t really pushed her self like she should so it would be sitting there lonley lol well to make a long story short I am currently 260 pounds and I’m 5’8, I know Bad ugh and I have lost confidence in myself badly, Today I just started her insanity and just with the fit test it kicked my booty ugh Shaun T. But I’m a keep going not just for health reasons but to feel better about myself I just have to dig deep and believe in myself, I haven’t seen myself small in 20 years and I’m about to turn 25 this month, I think part of me is a little scared of how I will look smaller but I have to face my fears head on, if there’s anyone that can help motivate me my email is I need to keep up this motivation thanks guys, and good luck :)

hi everyone, I am at the end of the second week, I started with my fiance and she quite on 3rd day, we will be getting married soon that’s the reason for the workout.
I have not really lost any weight but I have felt much better and being able to keep up with the exercises. I wont give up and hope I start loosing those pounds and get leaner.
    I am 5’7″ and weight 166lbs 27 yrs old.

  23. Taran says:

I just wonder do you guys do any workout program besides of Insanity? I though I can do both ZWOW’s workout and Insanity but I was wrong, completely tired and sore on thighs (I’ve just ended my first week). I had extra 20 mins interval skipping after recovery cardio and just can’t do any tough workout after that. Do you think is it enough with some day just 33 or 37 mins workout?

  24. Ado says:

    hello folks.
    I am 41 ,5 11″ 195lb-down from 232 2 years ago
I have been active working out for past 2years or so,lifting weights, running etc 4+ days per week.i am hard head ,I think ;if you can do it -I can too!
I am today on mine 35th day of INSANITY and I LOVE IT-and HATE it at same time.
I have not lost any weight in 35 insanity days, but I sure can see my abs forming and getting tighter.
I tought first 30 days was hard but think again and prepare your self for SWEAT
month #2– WAO ;fast, fast,no breaks ,no rest, push push
I dont keep well with neutrition guide ,I work very hard ;I would say that I complete 95% and keep up with DVD workout team
I dont think that this is good for heavy folks, reason is that you can hurt your knees and joints very easy; lot’s of jumping
first;hit treadmill, eliptical; put snacks and fatty food/drinks away;loose those extra pounds and then when you fill ready ….GO WITH INSANITY

I am a 41 year old Hispanic female in TX. I am 160lbs at 5’2″ that is considered overweight. High cholesteral and just out of shape. I just started Insanity this past Monday and there is a reason it’s called that! Just the warm up is Insane, not to mention the rest of the workout each day. I have done the workout each day and hope to keep going until the last day. Its exciting, motivating, not to mention challenging. You are worth it to try and be the best that you can be. My initial reason for trying insanity is to help and encourage a co-worker/friend to do this workout. Its not easy but the hardest part is hitting play. Once I’m working out I’m in the zone. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy! I will keep posting my progress, who knows if I can help anybody else with my results. I’ve one more day left and my first week is complete. Looking forward to the end result!
